A 20 month vocabulary

Ok, so as best we can, these are the words Mina has.  This includes animal sounds!  (mostly because the doctor said that yes, they count as words and they’re super cute.)

Rawwwr!  (For bears, dinosaurs, tigers and lions… they all speak the same language apparently)

Mummummum (that’s what dogs say)

Meow

Tweettweet

Ah-ah-ah (Monkeys!)

Baa-baa

Nay nay (horse)

Blublub (with accompanying sign, this is what fish say)

Mama

Dada

Dog

Book

Ball

Door

Mummy

Baby

Elmo

More

Hi

Byebye

Hot

Hat

Pooh (bear)

poopoo

peepee

Butt

Box

Pot

What

Water

Rock

Moon

Bubble

Noodle

Mind you, not all of these actually sound like the word all the way through.  Sometimes we only can tell what she’s saying in context.  Like most kids, water sounds like “wa-wa” but we know what she means.  She’s still using and making up lots of signs.

In addition she has the words she has said, but not repeated after that first time like: up, down, Nana, frog, owl, Tigger… and many many more.  She is definitely at the point where she will repeat a wayward “damn” if you’re not careful.

I thought of some more while we were out, but then I forgot them by the time we got home.  I’ll try to add to this list as we go!  But I’m not sure I can manage to post every day, for that new word she learns every day!  Yikes!

Happy 20 months, Mina!  Now let’s go to RB Cafe!
