Arthur A. Paquette

ATTLEBORO – Arthur A. Paquette, 89, formerly of 500 Mendon Road, South Attleboro, passed away on March 12, 2009 in the Hebert Nursing Home in Smithfield, R.I. He was the beloved husband of Louise B. (Bourbeau) Paquette, with whom he celebrated 67 years of marriage and 71 years of being together.

Born in Saskatchewan, Canada on Sept. 21, 1919, he was the son of the late Adelard and Anna (Dumaine) Paquette.

Arthur served his country proudly during World War II as a sergeant in the U.S. Army. He spent time after the war stationed in Japan as a member of a military government unit.

Arthur loved to cook in his later years, and also enjoyed gardening and yard work. He took great pride in his property, and was known for his attention to upkeep. He was loved by and will be missed by all.

In addition to his wife Louise, Arthur is survived by his children: Eileen Sweeney of Connecticut and Douglas Paquette of Ashaway, R.I.; five grandchildren: Michael Sweeney, Maureen Sweeney, Kate Beeson, Robin Paquette, and David Paquette; and three great-grandchildren: Mina Beeson, Meghan Paquette, and Michelle Paquette. He is also survived by his daughter-in law Allyson Paquette.

He was the father of the late Donald Paquette.

Family and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, March 15, 2009 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Diamond Funeral Home, 180 North Washington Street, North Attleboro.

A funeral will be conducted on Monday, March 16, 2009 at 10 a.m. from the Diamond Funeral Home, followed by a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Theresa’s Church, 18 Baltic St., South Attleboro.

Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Attleboro Falls.
