Well that was effin’ scary

So… Mina had a little fever last night.  Nothing too bad.  I gave her some advil in the afternoon, and then again in the middle of the night when she woke up warm.  This morning she woke up early, but seemed to be better.  Didn’t feel too warm, was active and happy.

Whatever.  I didn’t think about it.  We put her down for her morning nap.  An hour and a half later, I hear screaming.  So… I run in.  This isn’t her usual wake up and cry.

She’s lying on her mattress screaming, and NOT MOVING.  I pick her up, still screaming, complete ragdoll otherwise.  Floppy.  and HOT HOT HOT.  So we stripped her down, got her with a wet washcloth, and tried to get her moving.

A few minutes later she was a little more responsive, but she started passing out.  Droopy, eyes rolling back in the head.  So, we packed her up and took her to the urgent care place around the corner.  They saw us fairly quickly.  In the meantime her temperature went down, she got some advil, started feeling better.

Doctor said there was no apparent infection, but it could be a viral thing.  So, lots of advil and tylenol and keep her cool.  Keep an eye on her, and take her to the ER if it happens again.  Otherwise, off to the doc on Monday.

She’s looking a lot better now.  Playing, laughing, drinking LOTS of fluids.  So we keep an eye on her.
