My vest is yellow…

CERT!
But my hat is green!

Mark and Mina survived my first CERT class this evening.  The course matter will be fairly interesting, but the people are most definitely very interesting. Yes.  It’s being taught by a guy named George Butts who does, ummm, I’m not sure what when he’s not doing CERT.  Also, by the Batallion Commander of the MBFD.  Both are very nice guys and should be excellent teachers.

We were issued our CERT backpacks with all the goodness that they entail.  Including my beloved hard hat.  Oh yes.  Now I’ll be safe from flying toddler toys.  I even have safety goggles.  No more oatmeal in the eye!

More important though, Mark and Mina apparently had a pretty quiet evening.  I did my best to tire her out ahead of time, so he’d have an easy time getting her to go to sleep.  He did a great job.  I got home, and she’s sound asleep!  Wheeha!

Thursday the class continues and I have more disaster preparedness training.

Disaster… like running out of diapers?  I don’t think they’ll cover that.
