Expensive tastes
So, we’ve been slowly adding in proteins to Mina’s diet. Fruits and veggies are easy, starches are easy. Proteins, coming along. She had some almond butter - LOVES it. Granted, the delivery method is hard. She’ll eat just spoonfuls of it. But if you put it on a graham cracker, SHE has to hold it… and then well, yeah, it’s almond butter in the hair, ears, up the nose… you name it. We’ll work on that one.
But last night for dinner was the kicker. SALMON! Mark, Mina, and I went to dinner at our favorite Captain Kidd’s. It’s this fish market and restaurant down in Redondo Beach. Ubercasual - counter service, wooden tables, paper plates. Exactly what seafood should be. So I ordered the fresh salmon. Oh it was tasty. It was so tasty, Mina kept eating it. She ate quite a bit, and wouldn’t stop begging for more til it was all gone.
Then she begged for a hush puppy… but I DO have my limits.
We’re going to wait on shellfish, I think, as it tends to be one of the more allergy-inducing foods. Not that I really think she’ll have any food allergies.
Up next, maybe some tofu! At least that isn’t $20/lb ![]()
