Mis zapatos estan en fuego
Let me make an assumption here. You either live in the Los Angeles area, or you don’t. (This is deep, I know. All those philosophy classes are paying off.) Either way, you’ve probably at least heard about the fires all around LA. The fire in Malibu is probably the closest one to us - about 25 miles away, to the NNW. Straight up PCH for 45 minutes and you’re there.
The rest of the fires, as I understand it, would surround LA proper, if not for the ocean. Some to the north, some to the east, some to the south. And with the wind blowing towards the ocean, we’re all pretty much downwind.
Now, I’m pretty lucky. I don’t have very bad allergies. Sure I get a little sneezy, depending on what’s blooming, but for the most part, I can’t complain. But little tiny lungs are more sensitive. Mark says he could smell the smoke outside, on his post-lunch drive back to the office. I think I’ll stay inside today!
Somehow, the humidity is only 16%, and yet the sky is kinda grey/overcast looking. Gah. I’m definitely going to stay inside!
Oh, and keep your fingers crossed for the brave Mr. Zauder, who lives up in lovely Malibu. May you and your home be safe!
