Door Prize!

Well, FINALLY we are getting our new door installed. The guy is down there right now, tearing out the old hardware. I meant to take a picture of the door before he did, but I forgot. Alas, now I’ll never be able to share with you the true ghettoliciousness of our old door, in its final state.

Our new door is lovely. It’s pretty. It has these nice windows up along the top, so we get a little natural light down in that entryway. I won’t have to turn on the light in the middle of the day, just to see where the bottom of the stairs are.

We picked out a color - just need to go and get it. It’s a nice dark red. Kinda maroon, but more brick-colored. It’s gonna be beauteous! I will post pictures of the door when it’s all finished, I promise you at least that much!

Update: In case you were wondering, our old door was suffering from massive woodrot.  The bottom 2-3″ of the door were duct taped on for the last 2 or 3 months.  Eek!
